Bee Friendly Workshop newsfeed

Brooks – EcoBrooks is excited to announce a free “Let’s Bee Friendly Workshop” that will be taking place on Saturday, May 27th from 2-3pm at JBS Canada Centre. This workshop will educate residents on how to support bee populations and the value of bees in our ecosystem. Attendees will also be given a bee house of their very own to take home (a $20 value).  Alfalfa Seed Commission bee expert, Brad Alexander will be on hand to share his expertise. Brad will explain the benefits that bees have on our ecosystem, how to encourage their habitat and dispel some of the common bee myths.

Space is limited to the first 100 registrants. Please register to the “Let’s Bee Friendly Workshop”, by emailing brookscommunications@brooks.ca.  The presentation is open to all ages and the workshop is recommended for ages 14 and up. The workshop will be located at the JBS Canada Centre Flexroom.

All 100 bee houses were made by the Brooks Composite High School Construction 3C Class. “A special thanks to the students of the Construction 3C Class and to their instructors, Christian Lohmann and Dave Thompson.” says EcoBrooks Chairperson, Florence Juska.  “Their hard work went a long way in making this workshop possible!”
