The mission statement of the Engineering Services Department is to work co-operating with community stakeholders to effectively and efficiently plan, provide and facilitate a sustainable environment and infrastructure by developing, applying, reviewing and ensuring compliance with design and construction standards.

The City's Engineering and Property Services department consists of engineering services, development, economic development, GIS and planning.

Engineering

Engineering Services staff are responsible for the planning, design, and construction of safe, affordable, and sustainable transportation, water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm drainage systems in accordance with City Standards. Management and expansion of these systems is determined by using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and TCA (Tangible Capital Assets) data. Engineering Services will develop an Asset Management System from above data. This system and professional studies conducted on a regular basis will define short and long-term needs for the growing community of Brooks.

SERVICING STANDARDS

The Development Servicing Standards Guide provides information on the City's procedural requirements for street lighting, parks and reserves, roads and lanes, water distribution system, storm drainage system and sanitary sewage system for developers.
