In a effort to keep our streets safe, the City of Brooks is thinking about installing more solar power speed displays that notify the driver their current speed throughout areas of the City where speeding is a concern. Do you like these displays? Do they help you slow down?
City Council has approved $100,000 in funding in support of Ashton’s Place. The funding will be used to renovate Ashton’s place including the construction of 3 rooms to accommodate up to 6 youths in a transitional housing capacity.
City Council has recently approved $25,000 in funding for 5 new murals that will be placed along 1st Avenue West. Murals enhance esthetics of buildings in the community and while allowing its residents to display their artistic talents. Do you like to see murals throughout our City? June 4th to 10th has been proclaimed as Seniors Week and the City would like to celebrate by holding a Seniors Appreciation free cold breakfast for seniors on Friday, June 1st. The Lakeside Leisure Centre will host the event from 7:30-10:00am. Start your day with a healthy breakfast while enjoying some great company!
