- The City is not responsible for what is put in the sewer lines and is not responsible for sewer backups. The City encourages homeowners to contact the City's Public Works Department at 403-362-3146 or after hours at 403-362-5526 when the sewer backup occurs before calling a plumber as the City may be able to remedy the problem.
