WHAT THIS MEANS

The City is considering a rezoning application that would change how the property is allowed to be used. Rezoning does not approve any specific development; it changes the rules that apply to how the land could be developed. In this case, the proposed change from Future Urban Development (FUD) to Residential High Density (R-HD) would allow for more residential housing options than are currently permitted in the existing district. The current zoning, Future Urban Development (FUD), is a holding designation used to reserve land until a development proposal is ready, so rezoning is required before any development can move forward. A concept plan has been provided (above) to show what this development could look like if the rezoning is approved. Any future development would still need to go through separate review and approval processes.
